KGMZ
I went to the Kogumaza LP launch last Thursday at The Chameleon and much like previous Kogumaza gigs, I was completely blown away.
It was probably my 5th/6th time of seeing them, but they never disappoint. They sound like a different band every time I’ve seen them too. I guess this is due to the nature of their music and the fact that they are still a relatively new band and are still discovering what they can do with their sound.
And how to describe their sound? It’s hard as without trying to sound like some acid freak, and without being too much of a hippy about it, they are the type of band that you have to watch live and ‘experience’. But, think huge slabs of heavy, loud, droning, hypnotic guitar riffs. You can listen for yourself up above anyway.
Anyway, I picked up their album in the post-show euphoria and listened to it for the first time today, and it felt like it was going to shake my house down to the ground. It’s huge and heavy with a really dubby bass to it.
I’ve linked to the album above, but I suggest that you point your browsers towards their record label Low Point and purchase a copy immediately.
